Set in the high desert of central Oregon, this KOA enjoys a prime location in the state's recreational wonderland with spectacular views of the Cascade Range, including Mt. Jefferson and Mt. Hood. Lake Billy Chinook-where the Deschutes, Crooked and Metolius rivers converge-and Haystack Reservoir lie less than 15 minutes away and offer every kind of water sport. Hikers, rock climbers and rockhounds are in heaven among national grasslands, national forests and Smith Rock State Park. The campground offers plenty of recreation, too, with a heated outdoor pool, weekend ice cream socials, banana-bike rentals and a "pebble puppy" area for kids. Shop the campground store for crafts, fishing equipment, video rentals and a book exchange. The KOA's pastoral setting is a gift unto itself.
