Thunder Bay KOAMeet Your Hosts Kristie and Michael Kuper don't just work at their KOA Kampground, they "live it" every day. That means the Thunder Bay KOA is an intricate part of their family. Kristie's family first purchased the KOA in 1981, the year Kristie and Michael's first son, Andy, was born. Younger son Kelly was born a year later, and the two have been raised right on the campground. The Thunder Bay KOA was part of a family business that included and RV sales and service center. Michael was an RV technician for that business, while Kristie was the bookkeeper. "We found that we really enjoyed the campground part of the operation, and we wanted to work the park full time," said Kristie. "Now we not only meet our customer's expectations, we exceed them!" One of the campground's best features is the wonderful 18-hole mini golf course. When they aren't on the campground, you'll likely find Kristie working out at her gym, or Mike following NASCAR. |
